Principal Clean Water Modeller


Our Water company client is seeking a Principal Clean Water Modeller to join their network modelling team in Peterborough on a permanent basis with hybrid working available. You will bring strong capability in clean water network modelling and a commitment to developing deep technical expertise. This is a rare opportunity to join a leading technical team and help shape the future of clean water modelling across capital delivery and the wider business. Hybrid working is available and our client will also consider the right candidate being based out of Lincoln, Colchester or Norwich as well as Peterborough You will lead the capital scheme clean water modelling capability within our clients' Engineering team or sit within the Asset Management team depending on the role, collaborating with Alliance partners and Operations to influence how our clean water systems are designed, operated and optimised as well as supporting our model build and maintenance programme and strategic planning teams. You will translate complex model outputs into clear, risk‑based recommendations and play an active role in assuring hydraulic model quality as well as modelling quality and developing capability across the team. Responsibilities Delivering technical excellence in water modelling using tools such as Synergi Leading the development of solutions and testing operating scenarios for new water assets Diagnosing performance issues in existing assets Sharing knowledge and contributing to the continuous improvement of standards, specifications, and processes for model build and use. Innovating and challenging model build standards and processes Promoting a culture of collaboration and integration, delivering exceptional service to customers, stakeholders Skills/experience/qualifications Proven leadership in delivering complex modelling projects involving multiple stakeholders Experience of leading technical studies and interpreting system behaviour Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills Experience with tools such as InfoWorks WS Pro, Synergi, or similar Solid hydraulic fundamentals and a genuine commitment to professional growth Strong knowledge of industry context, policies, frameworks, and initiatives, including interpreting their impact on modelling priorities A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or demonstrable relevant experience; Chartered status or working towards it with a professional body.
