Maintenance & Design Engineer

Techniche Global is supporting a leading manufacturing and engineering company based in Birmingham in appointing a Maintenance & Design Engineer. 📍 Birmingham | Up to £50,000 + Benefits | Permanent | Days | Hybrid This is a varied, hands-on role combining maintenance engineering, fault finding, CAD design, prototyping, and engineering project work. You'll join a small engineering team supporting production equipment, tooling, customer products, and continuous improvement initiatives. What we're looking for: Experience in electromechanical maintenance, manufacturing, workshop, field service, or prototype engineering Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills Hands-on experience with workshop machinery, tooling, CNC equipment, and maintenance activities CAD design experience, ideally using 3D modelling software Practical problem-solving ability and a willingness to get involved across a wide range of engineering challenges 18th Edition qualification desirable Key responsibilities: Maintain and repair production machinery, tooling, and equipment Carry out fault finding, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance Produce CAD models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation Support prototype development, product improvements, and R&D projects Assist with site maintenance and engineering improvement initiatives Occasionally provide engineering support at customer sites This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering business offering a technically diverse role with strong long-term career potential
