Our client is a Top 60, advisory-led accountancy and professional services firm with a strong UK presence. With over 40 years’ heritage and continued national growth, they have evolved into a multi-office business employing 200+ professionals across Audit, Accounts, Tax and Advisory. Their relationship-driven, bespoke approach has positioned them as a trusted partner to mid-market and owner-managed businesses, supported by an ambitious acquisition strategy and award-winning workplace culture. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an Audit & Accounts Senior to join their expanding team in Manchester. Key Responsibilities • Prepare statutory accounts, audits and corporation tax returns for a varied portfolio of clients. • Lead audit assignments on-site and remotely, ensuring audits are completed efficiently and to a high standard. • Assist with planning, completion and finalisation of audit assignments for manager review. • Prepare accounts files and supporting working papers in line with relevant accounting standards. • Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and build strong working relationships. • Review work completed by junior team members, providing feedback and ensuring review points are addressed. • Support and mentor junior staff and trainees throughout assignments. • Ensure all work is completed in line with internal compliance procedures and deadlines. • Manage client workflows and prioritise workloads to ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget. • Identify client issues and opportunities to improve service delivery. • Assist senior management with ad hoc assignments and project work where required. About You • ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified. • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment. • Experience in both audit and accounts preparation. • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards including FRS102 and FRS105. • Confident communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels. • Able to work independently as well as part of a wider team. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments. • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff would be advantageous. • Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
