Freelance Quantity Surveyor - Southampton Industrial Project A leading main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major Industrial & Logistics developments across the South Coast region. Based in Southampton, you will play a key commercial role on large-scale warehouse and distribution projects, working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors from pre-construction through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected contractor with a strong pipeline of industrial and logistics work nationwide. The Role Reporting into the Commercial Manager, responsibilities will include: Full commercial management of Industrial & Logistics projects Administration of JCT Design & Build contracts Management of both upstream and downstream commercial processes Procurement and management of subcontract packages Cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs Valuations, variations and change management Subcontract account management and final accounts Liaising with site and project management teams Supporting commercial strategy and risk management Ensuring commercial compliance across project delivery Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction Previous Industrial / Logistics / Warehouse project experience preferred Strong understanding of JCT Design & Build contracts Experience managing both client-side and subcontractor-side commercial activities Ability to operate independently within a live project environment Strong communication and negotiation skills Tier 1 contractor experience preferred Details Freelance / Contract position Southampton based Long-term opportunity Competitive market day rate Immediate or short notice start preferredFor a confidential discussion or further information, please get in touch directly
