The Pastoral Leader role is focused on supporting the personal, emotional, behavioural, and academic development of pupils, particularly those facing barriers to education. The role involves overseeing a caseload of students, supporting attendance, behaviour, safeguarding, and reintegration into mainstream or specialist education settings. Key responsibilities include: providing pastoral and behavioural support to vulnerable pupils, implementing trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches, managing safeguarding concerns alongside the DSL team, leading multi-agency meetings and working closely with families and external agencies, monitoring attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing data, and developing individual support, reintegration, and harm-reduction plans.The role requires someone with strong experience working with young people in education, youth work, social care, SEND, or alternative provision settings.
