Business Development Manager 📍 Hybrid (UK travel) | Essex 💼 Permanent, Full-Time 💰 £50,000 – £60,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance The Opportunity We’re looking for a hungry, consultative Business Development Manager / Sales Manager to take full ownership of new business within a fast-growing, technology-led facilities management environment. This is not a transactional sales role — you’ll be building long-term partnerships, engaging senior stakeholders, and designing tailored FM solutions for multi-site clients. You’ll: Own the full 360° sales cycle Build your own pipeline from scratch Work collaboratively with senior leadership and operations teams Play a key role in defining growth strategy Key Responsibilities Sales & New Business * Generate new opportunities through outreach, networking, referrals and events * Own the full sales process from prospecting through to close * Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers (FDs, COOs, Property Directors) Consultative Selling * Understand client challenges and design bespoke FM solutions * Deliver high-quality proposals, presentations and client demos * Position the business as a trusted advisor Pipeline & Performance * Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline * Ensure accurate CRM tracking and forecasting * Report regularly on pipeline activity and performance Commercial & Tender Management * Lead RFPs, tenders and bid submissions end to end * Collaborate with operational teams on service design * Negotiate contracts with a focus on long-term value and margin What We’re Looking For Essential * 5+ years’ B2B sales experience (FM, building services, or commercial real estate) * Proven track record of winning multi-site FM contracts * Strong commercial acumen (pricing, margin management, negotiation) * Confident working with senior stakeholders * Self-starter with the ability to build pipeline independently * Experience managing tenders and structured bid processes * Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel Desirable * Experience selling FM technology or service platforms * Existing network within hospitality, retail, or workplace sectors * Experience mentoring or supporting junior sales professionals What’s on Offer * Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience) * Performance-based bonus aligned to new business wins * Car allowance * 21 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service) * Full tech package (laptop, phone, CRM systems) * Clear progression pathway into senior sales leadership Apply Now To apply, please submit your CV along with a short cover note
