We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Logistics Assistant to join their friendly administration team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Microsoft Office skills particularly in Word and Excel and a natural flair for communication, who is keen to develop a career within logistics and operations. The Role Working within a busy and varied environment, you’ll play a key part in supporting logistics operations, with a particular focus on international movements. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal step into the industry, though any prior exposure to logistics or UK import processes would be advantageous. Key Responsibilities Planning and coordinating consignment movements between sites to meet delivery deadlines Supporting the day-to-day customs clearance of UK-bound shipments alongside clearance agents Developing into a site “go-to” for customs-related processes Maintaining and updating standard operating procedures, work instructions, and risk assessments Acting as a training coordinator for the logistics team Producing and updating spreadsheets, schedules, reports, and presentations Handling general administrative duties such as filing, typing, scanning, and document control Providing flexible administrative support across the team as requiredAbout You A confident communicator with excellent written and spoken English Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Highly organised with a keen eye for detail Able to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines A proactive problem solver with a positive, can-do attitude Friendly and approachable, with a willingness to learn Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, but not essentialWhat’s on Offer Full training and development in logistics and customs processes A welcoming and supportive team environment Free on-site parking Convenient location within walking distance of local bus routesIf you’re eager to kick-start your career in logistics and bring strong administrative and communication skills to a growing team, we’d love to hear from you.
