Our client, a leading multi-site garage group in Southampton, is seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join their busy and expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled automotive technicians looking to specialise further or enhance their professional credentials within a reputable workshop. The successful MOT Tester will contribute to maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and compliance, supporting the continued success of our client’s operation. Benefits: Competitive basic salary up to £36,000 per annum OTE approximately £40,200 Monday to Friday working hours, 08:30 – 17:30 Saturdays on a rota basis, with a day off during the week when working on Saturdays On-site parking Company pension scheme Life insurance Supportive, team-oriented working environment Opportunity for additional training to obtain MOT licenceDuties of an MOT Tester: Conduct MOT tests in accordance with DVSA guidelines, ensuring accuracy and safety Complete vehicle inspections, light servicing, and repairs as required MOT Testers carry out diagnostics and identify faults efficiently Undertake tyre fitting and wheel alignment adjustments using relevant equipment Fit brakes, exhausts, and other mechanical components following manufacturer specifications Maintain in-depth documentation of all work carried out, adhering to company policies Communicate any additional vehicle faults to customers or management effectively Ensure health and safety regulations are consistently followed Contribute to a team committed to high standards of service and professionalismRequirements of an MOT Tester: Full valid MOT Testing licence is essential Valid UK driving licence Proven experience in vehicle servicing, MOT repairs, and diagnostics, including brakes, suspension, exhausts, cambelts, etc. Ideally hold NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent Strong customer service skills Ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment Willingness to learn and develop your skill set Ability to work proactively and independently, with a strong focus on qualityThis vacancy offers excellent prospects for career progression and further training, especially for those eager to secure their MOT licence or expand their technical skillset.
