Audit & Accounts Manager

Audit & Accounts Manager Location: Liverpool (onsite) Salary: £60,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Liverpool who are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of a portfolio, lead audit engagements, and play a key role in the continued growth of the firm. You will work with a diverse client base including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and larger corporate entities across a range of sectors. Key responsibilities: * Managing a portfolio of audit clients, acting as the main point of contact * Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion and sign-off * Reviewing audit files, working papers, and statutory accounts * Ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards, FRS102, and UK GAAP * Managing and mentoring audit seniors and junior staff * Allocating work, reviewing performance, and supporting team development * Liaising directly with clients, providing commercial and technical advice * Identifying opportunities for business development and cross-selling services * Managing deadlines, budgets, and ensuring profitability of engagements * Working closely with partners on strategic and operational matters Requirements: * ACA or ACCA qualified * Minimum 5+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice (audit focused) * Strong technical knowledge of audit, FRS102, and UK GAAP * Proven experience managing audit assignments and client portfolios * Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills * Experience reviewing work and managing teams * Commercially aware with the ability to identify growth opportunities Audit Manager, Audit and Accounts Manager, Senior Audit Manager, External Audit, ACA, ACCA, qualified accountant, accountancy practice, audit jobs Liverpool, portfolio management, audit planning, audit completion, statutory accounts, FRS102, UK GAAP, audit review, audit manager jobs, SME clients, owner managed businesses, corporate clients, audit software, CaseWare, CCH, Iris, team leadership, staff management, business development, client relationship management, finance jobs Liverpool This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking firm offering strong progression, leadership responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact
