Finance Manager – Office Based A hands-on Finance Manager role with full ownership of financial operations, supporting long‑term strategy and day‑to‑day control. Ideal for a qualified finance professional with strong manufacturing or construction experience and the confidence to operate as a senior advisor to leadership. Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager Project & Construction Finance * Track project profitability and cost‑to‑cost forecasts * Manage valuations, applications for payment, and tender cost analysis * Lead retentions recovery and contractual payment processes (incl. MCD) Strategic Finance * Evaluate investments, capex and asset management * Advise on borrowing, financing options and lender relationships * Support growth plans with financial modelling Financial Operations * Lead bookkeeping, ledgers, monthly/annual reporting * Manage cashflow, working capital and liquidity * Develop budgets across departments and projects * Oversee procurement to reduce material and overhead costs * Produce management accounts, cost reports and KPIs What You Bring as Finance Manager Experience & Capability * Proven Finance Manager or senior finance lead * Strong manufacturing or contracting finance background * Expertise in bookkeeping, cashflow and budgeting * Solid understanding of valuations, bidding, retentions and payment cycles * Experience advising on investment and financial strategy * High accuracy, integrity and commercial awareness Desirable * ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) * Experience in specialist construction/craft sectors * Strong modelling and forecasting skills * Exposure to M&A or share ownership schemes Ways of Working * Process‑driven with strong controls and governance * Confident ensuring compliance with accounting, tax and regulatory standards * Experience integrating finance systems with operational platforms (e.g., Simpro, Procore) * Comfortable working with auditors, banks and external advisors Personal Attributes * Strategic yet hands‑on * Clear communicator at director level * Organised, proactive and commercially minded * Values‑driven with a long‑term mindset This is an office‑based role; candidates must live within daily commuting distance and have their own transport.
