CSCS Labourer Location: North Lincolnshire Rate of Pay: £120 a day Start date: ASAP Duration required: 7 Months Driving License with Vehicle - Mandatory --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Job Description: The Surfacing Operative will support the delivery of highways, footpaths, and hard-landscaping surfacing works. This role involves preparing work areas, assisting with the laying of tarmac and other surface materials, operating small tools and plant, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities * Assist surfacing gangs with the preparation and laying of tarmac, asphalt, concrete, or block paving * Set up working areas, including barriers, signage, and traffic management where required * Carry out groundwork activities such as digging, levelling, compaction, and basic reinstatement * Operate small plant and hand tools (wacker plates, breakers, saws, compactors) * Load, unload, and move materials safely around site * Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment * Follow instructions from the Site Supervisor or Surfacing Foreman * Adhere to all health and safety procedures, ensuring safe working practices at all times * Support the team in achieving daily production targets Essential Skills & Experience * Previous experience in surfacing, highways, or civil engineering groundwork * Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding outdoor environment * Competent in the use of hand tools and small plant * Understanding of safe working practices and risk assessments * Good communication and teamwork skills
