Senior EC&I Designer

The Opportunity We’re supporting a major long-term engineering programme within a highly regulated environment, delivering a portfolio of complex infrastructure and facility upgrades. This programme represents a significant, multi-billion-pound investment aimed at improving operational capability, safety, and sustainability for decades to come. As part of this, a new-build facility is being delivered to ensure the continuity of critical site operations, playing a key role in supporting long-term environmental and operational objectives. Due to continued project demand, we’re looking to engage an experienced Senior EC&I Designer to support design delivery aligned with construction and commissioning activities. The Role As a Senior EC&I Designer, you’ll take ownership of EC&I design deliverables, working both independently and collaboratively within a multi-discipline team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality design output that supports project execution through to commissioning. Key Responsibilities Production of EC&I design deliverables including: Loop diagrams Block cable diagrams Single line diagrams Development and modification of control panel schematic diagrams Updating and managing cable data and associated information within design systems Production and review of termination details Ensuring all drawings and documentation meet required technical and quality standards Delivering work in line with agreed schedules and project milestones Supporting construction and commissioning teams with design queries and updates About You ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Strong experience using 2D design tools (ideally AutoCAD) Experience with engineering design databases/systems (e.g. Aveva E&I or similar) Proven background delivering EC&I design within highly regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, oil & gas, defence, or similar) Ability to work independently and manage your own workload Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across multi-discipline teams Why Apply?
