Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Highways Division Location: Peterborough (Surrounding areas) Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance & Bonus Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our team delivering a highways maintenance projects across Peterborough . This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a long-term infrastructure programme focused on maintaining and improving the local road network. You will play a key role in commercial management, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities * Manage all commercial aspects of highways maintenance projects * Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts * Administer contracts in line with NEC (or similar) conditions * Assess, manage, and process subcontractor payments * Monitor project costs and identify risks/opportunities * Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts * Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers * Ensure compliance with company procedures and client requirements * Provide regular financial reporting to senior management Requirements * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within highways or infrastructure maintenance * Good understanding of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4 preferred) * Strong commercial and financial acumen * Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain relationships * Proficient in cost management and reporting tools * Excellent communication and negotiation skills * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience) * Membership of RICS or working towards chartership (desirable) What We Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package * Long-term, stable framework with secured workload * Opportunities for career progression and professional development * Support towards chartership (if applicable) * Collaborative and supportive working environment
