Carpenter - Trainee Supervisor

Fawkes & Reece are working with a prestige Tier 1 main contractor that delivers large-scale residential developments, including purpose-built student accommodation and retirement living apartments. Their projects are typically high-rise RC frame developments, and due to continued growth they are looking to recruit an experienced Carpenter or Joiner who wants to progress into a Site Finishing Supervisor role specialising in passive fire snagging and finishing works. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a carpentry background who wants to move into site supervision while developing specialist skills in passive fire protection. This is a temporary to permanent role The Role You will work alongside the site management and aftercare teams, supporting finishing, snagging and fire-related carpentry works across major residential developments. Projects are located across Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester, with travel and accommodation covered when working away from home. Key Responsibilities • Supervise carpentry operatives completing finishing and remedial works • Coordinate and manage snagging activities on site • Inspect works to ensure high quality standards • Support and inspect passive fire carpentry elements • Work closely with Site Managers and Project Managers • Ensure works meet Health & Safety and building regulations Passive Fire Scope • Fire doors, frames and ironmongery • Fire-rated partitions and ceilings • Fire stopping around carpentry penetrations • Maintaining building fire compartmentation What We’re Looking For • Qualified Carpenter / Joiner • Experience working on construction sites • Ideally experience on large residential or RC frame projects • Strong attention to detail • Someone looking to progress into supervision • CSCS Card (SSSTS desirable) What’s on Offer • Rate of Pay £17.00 - £19.00 per hour • Clear progression into Site Finishing Supervisor • Training in passive fire protection • Travel and accommodation paid • Long-term work with a forward-thinking contractor Apply Now If you are a carpenter looking to progress your career into site supervision, we would like to hear from you.
