Property Assistant - Band 4 (General Industrial) Location: Darlington Job Type: Temporary Duration: 30 March 2026 - 30 March 2027 Working Hours: 37 hours per week Monday - Friday, 08:00am - 16:00pm Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour (PAYE) About the Role Darlington Borough Council is seeking a Property Assistant to support the Public Building Repairs Service. This role combines administrative support with coordination of maintenance and repair activities, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered to both internal and external customers. Key Responsibilities Assist in coordinating maintenance and repair appointments for public buildings Raise, schedule, and oversee repair requests from start to completion Process and manage high-volume repair jobs efficiently Maintain accurate records, including timesheet data for finance reconciliation Investigate and resolve outstanding job tickets using ICT systems Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve enquiries at first point of contact Support purchasing processes and maintain a good understanding of procurement Deliver a high standard of customer service, reducing repeat enquiries Skills & Experience Previous experience in an administrative or property/maintenance support role Good understanding of purchasing/procurement processes Strong organisational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Ability to use ICT systems and maintain accurate records Attention to detail, especially when handling financial and job data What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Is proactive and able to manage a busy workload Can work both independently and as part of a team Is committed to delivering excellent customer service Has a strong eye for detail and problem-solving mindset
