SEND Tutor – Full Time We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEND Tutor to support learners with learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD/SEND) in a dynamic and supportive educational environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual committed to helping young people develop independence, achieve qualifications, and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: * Plan and prepare engaging course and training materials * Deliver GCSE and Functional Skills in Maths and English, including embedded learning * Conduct initial assessments and diagnostics (including English and maths) * Maintain accurate learner records and complete all required documentation in a timely manner * Ensure programmes meet quality standards for IQA and EQA requirements * Support learners with SEND across a variety of classroom settings * Implement and lead positive behaviour management strategies * Monitor and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) * Promote independence, confidence, and self-help skills in learners * Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals * Attend networking events to promote provision (where required) Essential Requirements: * Recognised teaching qualification * Minimum Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent) * Experience delivering GCSE/Functional Skills Maths and English * Experience working with young people with SEND and/or behavioural needs * Strong behaviour management skills and ability to handle challenging situations * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills * Ability to work effectively as part of a team * A flexible, proactive, and resilient approach Desirable: * Level 5 teaching qualification * SEND or behaviour-related qualifications * Experience in an educational or specialist setting * Strong IT skills Personal Qualities: * Self-motivated with a high level of initiative * Enthusiastic and able to motivate learners * Adaptable, innovative, and solution-focused * Committed to continuous improvement and high standards * A positive approach with a good sense of humour * Passionate about empowering young people with additional needs Additional Requirements: Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion Up-to-date safeguarding and child protection knowledge Willingness to work flexibly to meet learner needs Full UK driving licence and access to own transport This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people, supporting them towards independence, employment, and further education.
