JOB TITLE: GRADUATE TOWN PLANNER LOCATION: ABINGDON Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established, design-led consultancy in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join their team in Abingdon. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Planner with some experience to join a respected consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, mixed-use, and urban regeneration schemes. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience and exposure to all aspects of the planning process. THE ROLE As a Graduate Town Planner, you will support the delivery of planning projects from early-stage feasibility through to submission and determination. You will work closely with senior team members, gaining experience across a range of sectors while developing your technical skills and understanding of the planning system within a collaborative and creative environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications * Assisting with site appraisals and feasibility assessments * Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation * Conducting planning policy research and analysis * Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and stakeholders * Supporting senior planners on a range of projects * Attending site visits, meetings, and consultations * Assisting with project coordination and documentation WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline * Some experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment * Working towards MRTPI (or keen to begin the process) * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Good organisational skills and attention to detail * A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and development WHAT'S ON OFFER * Competitive salary and benefits package * Hybrid working flexibility * Opportunity to work on a wide range of planning projects * Supportive and collaborative team environment * Clear career progression and support towards Chartership Interested?
