SEND Tutor / Teacher – Barnsley (Part-Time, Home/Community-Based) Are you an experienced SEND Tutor or Teacher looking for a truly meaningful and rewarding role? We are working to recruit a knowledgeable and compassionate SEND Tutor/Teacher to support two KS1 pupils with complex medical and sensory needs. This is a unique opportunity to deliver highly personalised learning that is entirely shaped around each child’s individual needs. 📍 Role Details Location: Barnsley (separate locations) Start Date: After Easter – through to Summer Hours: To be confirmed Pay: £25–£35 per hour (dependent on experience) 🌟 About the Role You will be supporting two pupils on a 1:1 basis in separate settings, delivering a tailored approach using the MSI (Multi-Sensory Impairment) curriculum. Both pupils have complex health needs, requiring a thoughtful, flexible, and nurturing approach to learning. This role is fully child-centred, with sessions adapted to meet their medical, physical, and developmental requirements. You will: • Deliver personalised, 1:1 sessions tailored to each child • Follow the MSI curriculum with guidance and training provided • Work collaboratively with a specialist tutor and physiotherapist • Adapt teaching strategies to support complex medical and sensory needs • Create a calm, engaging, and safe learning environment 🎯 What We’re Looking For * Experience supporting children with SEND and healthcare needs • A strong understanding of child-centred and adaptive learning approaches • Confidence working independently across different settings • A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach • Teaching or tutoring experience (QTS desirable but not essential) 💼 What’s on Offer * Competitive hourly rate (£25–£35 per hour) • Minimum 2-hour sessions • Training and ongoing support from a specialist tutor and physiotherapist • Guidance from an experienced consultant and SEND specialists within Barnsley Council • A highly rewarding role where you can make a genuine impact 💡 Why This Role?
