We’re recruiting a fantastic opportunity for an Estimator to join a main contractor near Holmfirth/Huddersfield. The company are an interior fit out and joinery contractor who operate in the hospitality, leisure, stadia, modular build and universities. They work on projects from £50,000 to £5 million in value. The company operate from a large workshop and office complex. They are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join their growing business. Job Purpose: The key responsibilities of the Estimator role are to produce project estimates from enquiries received, leading the procurement of materials and trades for secured projects and seeing the project through to financial completion. The role will involve working in a fast-paced environment to deliver projects ranging from £20,000 up to £5m. You will work closely with our entire team and our supply chain, to produce detailed quotations, raise purchase orders, manage project budgets, and approve supplier invoices, whilst ensuring that company margins are maintained, and project timescales met. This could suit an Estimator with a background from main contractors, interior fit out contractors or joinery subcontractors. It could also suit a dual QS/Estimator. Primary Responsibilities: * Receiving and reviewing initial tender enquiries from new and existing clients * Generating a scope of works based on tender documentation, client’s schedules or through site visits * Providing expert guidance on project budget feasibility at early stages * Produce quotations based on anticipated labour and material costs * Obtaining quotes from supply chain for sub-contractors and suppliers, and confidently addressing tender queries * Compile final tenders and submit to client deadlines * Answering post tender queries from clients, along with undertaking value engineering exercises and contract sum negotiations * Ability to manage multiple tenders from various clients at the same time * Produce post project cost analysis for internal review Experience: * 5 years’ experience as a self-managing Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in the UK commercial interior design and fit-out sector * Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs * Proficient in using industry-standard estimating software and tools * Excellent analytical and numerical skills * Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with various stakeholders Skills & Abilities: * Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel * Strong IT knowledge (project file management, email management etc.) * Exceptional communication skills * Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment working to tight deadlines What’s on offer: * Competitive salary * Car allowance * Mobile Phone / Laptop (inc. personal use) * 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays.
