Design Engineer

Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Design Engineer Location: Swansea (Hybrid) Type: Permanent Salary: Competitive (DOE) Overview Join a growing engineering design team working across COMAH, chemical, manufacturing and utilities projects UK‑wide. You’ll take technical ownership from tender/FEED through detailed design to commissioning in safety‑critical, regulated environments. What you’ll do * Specify and deliver field instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, analytical) * Produce/check EC&I deliverables: loop diagrams, datasheets, cable & I/O schedules * Support FEED, tendering and hazardous area design (ATEX / IEC 60079) * Perform intrinsic safety verification and technical reviews * Liaise with clients, vendors and site teams through to commissioning * Contribute to standards, templates and best practice About you * Proven instrumentation design experience in industrial/process settings * Strong knowledge of hazardous area installations and UK regulations * Confident producing/reviewing EC&I documentation * HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation Engineering * AutoCAD proficiency and strong organisational skills * CompEx certified (or willing to obtain with support) Benefits * Varied projects across energy, chemical, manufacturing and utilities * Hybrid working and real technical ownership * Professional development, with access to training (incl.
