Mechanical Engineer Industry: Special purpose machinery Salary: £45k-£55k Location: Cambridge An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-growing technology company developing innovative special purpose machinery. The business is moving rapidly from R&D and pilot phases into full industrial deployment, delivering complex equipment for a variety of technical applications. This role offers the chance to work across the full development life cycle, from early-stage concept and experimentation through to prototype build, scale-up and production implementation. It is ideal for a proactive engineer who enjoys hands-on development, technical problem-solving and working in a fast-paced environment where innovation and practical engineering go hand in hand. Key Responsibilities: * Lead development projects from concept through to scale-up * Develop solutions to support complex manufacturing processes and equipment * Build and test prototypes * 3D CAD design * Identify emerging technologies, innovations and external developments * Ensure designs are optimised for manufacture and assembly Skills & Experience Required: * 2+ years’ experience in a product development environment * Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems * Background in special purpose machinery design * Strong 3D CAD skills * Hands-on experience with workshop tools, prototyping or 3D printing * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail If you’re looking to join a business that values creativity, quality and innovation, then apply with a copy of your CV
