StS Engineer (Multi-Trader) - Field Based (London) Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience) Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm Location: Field-based across London, with Head Office in Southgate (N14) Good location would be Ealing, Brent or Harrow but this is a mobile role and the work would depend on client needs but they do try to keep you logistically North of London. The Role The organisation is an approved Setting the Standard (StS) provider, ensuring confidence that their properties meet compliance, safety, and quality benchmarks. As the StS Engineer, you will carry out inspections and remedial maintenance across a portfolio of properties throughout London. You will prepare homes for StS inspections, attend annual assessments, and build strong working relationships with StS inspectors. This is a field-based role within a wider maintenance team, working closely with office-based coordinators to ensure all repairs and compliance checks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Attend scheduled StS inspections and complete all necessary pre‑inspection maintenance Carry out proactive repair works to ensure properties meet StS compliance requirements Record job progress and outcomes accurately, including photo/video evidence Maintain accurate data entries via PDA and internal systems Work closely with StS inspectors to ensure smooth inspection processes Manage stock levels and materials within the work vehicle Deliver excellent customer service and handle queries professionally Provide support across departments where required Follow all company policies and compliance proceduresSkills & Experience Required Broad experience in multi‑trade maintenance, especially carpentry and plumbing (plastering desirable) Experience working with vulnerable individuals and/or HMO properties Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships Full driving licence DBS/Police check Strong organisational and administrative skills Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently Experience in a similar compliance, inspections, or StS-related role is beneficial Flexibility to meet the demands of a reactive maintenance environmentDesirable Knowledge of temporary or emergency accommodation Experience of fire‑safety related repairs and inspectionsBenefits 23 days annual leave + bank holidays Additional holiday for long service (up to 30 days) Tenure rewards (£500 at 3 years, £1,000 at 5 years, £5,000 at 10 years) Private health insurance Birthday off each year One wellbeing day per year Enhanced maternity/paternity pay Pension scheme improvements after 2 years Professional Emergency First Aid training £500 employee referral scheme Monthly company payday lunch Fresh fruit provided dailyDiversity & Inclusion The organisation is committed to inclusion, respect and belonging.
