You will join a well-established engineering business with a strong order book, sensible processes, and a workshop team that needs a confident Production Manager to bring structure, pace, and accountability. No fluff, you will be the Production Manager who makes delivery happen. The Production Manager role As Production Manager you will lead the full build process from incoming components through inspection, assembly, test, calibration, and pack out for shipment. The Production Manager will manage resource, timings, and budgets, keeping multiple builds moving and customers happy. This Production Manager position is hands-on, you will be visible on the shop floor, leading by example, coordinating with stores, planning, projects, and engineering, and driving continuous improvement across tools, methods, and workflow. What you will be doing as Production Manager Own delivery of all internal builds, ensuring on time and in full performance as the Production Manager Build and maintain realistic schedules, coordinating dates and capacity with other departments Keep quality on track, including build packs, test documentation, and raising or closing out non-conformances Spot risk early, manage issues fast, escalate when needed, and protect delivery commitments Drive continuous improvement in tooling, equipment, methods, and workshop processes Lead and mentor a team of 5 to 10 including apprentices, allocating tasks properly and developing capability Run appraisals, support training plans, and handle performance conversations when required Maintain strong workshop standards around safety, quality, and business conductWhat we need from the Production Manager Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Workshop Manager, or similar leadership role Strong leadership style, you can set direction, keep standards high, and get the team over the line Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical assembly environments Confident reading engineering drawings and Bills of Materials Good working knowledge of UK health and safety expectations in a workshop setting Strong organisation skills, you can prioritise, plan, and keep calm when everything lands at once IT literate, comfortable using business systems to track progress and performance Financial awareness, able to manage budgets and control costs A formal qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience Ideally 3+ years in a similar Production Manager position, with a strong engineering backgroundNice to have Exposure to ISO style processes and quality systems Understanding of goods in, stock control, planning, procurement, and installation activities Forklift or overhead crane experience Willingness to travel occasionally to customer or supplier sites, sometimes at short noticePackage Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 Location: Christchurch A key Production Manager role with real ownership, visibility, and impact  How to apply for the Production Manager Position If you want to be considered for this Production Manager role, get in touch today with your CV or a quick overview of what you have been leading recently.
