Warehouse Operative Location: Watford, WD25 Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:00am to 5:00pm Alternate Saturdays – 7:00am to 4:00pm (49.25 hours per week) Salary: £32,000 – £33,000 About the Role: This family owned builders merchant are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join their team in Watford. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be picking and packing orders, helping customers with collections, receiving deliveries, and keeping the warehouse organised. You’ll work as part of a friendly team to make sure customers receive the right products on time and to a high standard. Benefits: * Perkbox – 24/7 discounts, wellbeing support, online GP access & more * Company Pension Scheme * Group Life Assurance (up to 3x salary, subject to service) * Staff Discount on all products * Cycle to Work Scheme * Employee Assistance Programme * Long Service Awards * 23 days annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday off Key Responsibilities: * Accurately pick and pack customer orders in line with delivery schedules * Check product codes, quantities, and quality before dispatch * Assist customers with collections, loading vehicles safely and efficiently * Replenish and organise stock across warehouse and yard areas * Support goods-in duties including unloading deliveries, checking items, and restocking * Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised warehouse * Use warehouse systems/handheld scanners to record stock movements * Provide product advice and support to customers where required * Follow all health, safety, and manual handling procedures Requirements: * Experience in picking and packing within a builders merchant environment * Valid counterbalance forklift licence (desirable) * Strong product knowledge (plumbing, bathroom, or general building materials desirable) * Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills * Confident dealing with trade and retail customers * Comfortable with manual handling
