Decarbonisation Associate Director About the Organisation A leading global consultancy is seeking a Decarbonisation Associate Director to support the expansion and strategic leadership of its carbon and sustainability services. The organisation places sustainable development at the centre of its work and delivers major programmes across energy, water, transport and other infrastructure sectors. Carbon and sustainability specialists within the business support high‑profile infrastructure projects, develop Net Zero strategies, undertake GHG assessments, and provide strategic guidance to help clients transition to low‑carbon futures. The Opportunity This is a senior leadership role focused on shaping, growing and delivering decarbonisation services for major infrastructure projects. The position combines: Technical expertise Strategic direction Work winning and client engagement Cross‑disciplinary collaboration Team leadership and mentoringThe role forms part of a wider network of carbon experts and will drive innovation, best practice and technical excellence across the UK and international business. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and delivery of decarbonisation strategies and carbon management services across infrastructure projects. Provide technical leadership on Net Zero roadmaps, carbon reduction planning and GHG quantification. Shape strategic direction and service development for infrastructure decarbonisation across relevant markets. Coordinate multi‑location carbon teams to ensure consistent, high‑quality and integrated delivery. Drive innovation, embed best practice and raise technical standards across teams. Support work winning: client engagement, bids, proposals and strategic business planning. Mentor and develop junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. Represent the organisation in senior forums, industry groups and stakeholder environments. Work flexibly and collaboratively across regions to draw on the best expertise available.About You - Skills & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Climate Change or a related discipline. Strong understanding of UK and devolved government carbon and climate mitigation policy. Proven leadership experience in carbon management, sustainability, or major infrastructure delivery. Ability to shape technical direction and influence strategic outcomes. Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
