Senior Quantity Surveyor (Infrastructure) 📍 Birmingham| Boutique Consultancy | Client-Side Secondment | Major Infrastructure Programme Are you a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong infrastructure experience looking for something more embedded and strategic than traditional consultancy work? We are working with a respected boutique cost consultancy delivering major infrastructure schemes across transport, utilities, and regeneration. We are seeking a Senior QS to join our team and be seconded directly into a client organisation, playing a key role within a flagship infrastructure programme. This is a unique opportunity to combine the agility and progression of a boutique practice with the influence and stability of a client-side position. The Role You will act as a trusted commercial advisor within the client’s organisation, supporting the successful delivery of a high-value infrastructure portfolio. Working closely with programme managers, contractors, and stakeholders, you will ensure robust commercial governance and value protection across the lifecycle of projects. Key Responsibilities * Provide commercial leadership across infrastructure packages * Manage contract administration (NEC Contracts) * Review and challenge contractor valuations and change control * Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and risk assessments * Support procurement strategy and tender evaluations * Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and reporting standards * Uphold professional standards in line with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors About You * Proven infrastructure experience (transport, utilities, highways, rail, energy, etc.) * Strong NEC contract knowledge * Experience working client-side or in embedded/secondment roles desirable * Confident communicator able to operate within large stakeholder environments * Commercially astute with strong analytical skills Why Join? * Long-term secondment within a high-profile client organisation * Major infrastructure exposure * Clear progression within a growing boutique consultancy * Competitive salary + bonus * Supportive, collaborative team culture * Flexible working arrangements If you’re looking to step into a more strategic, client-facing infrastructure role while retaining the backing of a specialist consultancy, we’d love to hear from you
