Graduate Teaching Assistant


About the School We are an inclusive and nurturing primary school in Southwark with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our ethos centres on personalised learning, emotional wellbeing, and ensuring every child feels valued and supported. About the Role This role is ideal for a graduate who is passionate about inclusive education, child development, or educational psychology. You will work closely with the SENCo, class teachers, and external professionals to support pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies Adapt classroom resources to meet individual learning needs Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies Monitor progress and contribute to review meetingsPerson Specification Essential: A recent undergraduate degree Empathy, patience, and resilience Strong communication skills Commitment to inclusive educationDesirable: Experience supporting children with SEND Interest in educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or teaching Training in behaviour support or safeguardingWhat We Offer Specialist SEND training and ongoing professional development Supportive mentoring from experienced staff Meaningful hands-on experience in inclusive practice Clear progression routes into education, psychology, or therapy pathways HOW TO APPLY: To apply for this learning mentor role, please click 'Apply' and upload your most up to date CV.
