SEND Teaching Assistant We are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of special educational needs within a specialist education setting. Key Information • Role: SEND Teaching Assistant • Setting: Specialist SEND provision • Contract: Full time • Start Date: As soon as possible • Pupil Needs: Autism, ASD, PMLD, Global Developmental Delay The Role – Day-to-Day Duties As SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide consistent, tailored support throughout the school day. Duties will include: • Supporting pupils with complex SEND needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups • Assisting pupils with autism, ASD, PMLD, and global developmental delay to access learning • Supporting communication, engagement, and sensory regulation • Assisting with personal care, feeding, and mobility where required • Implementing individual support strategies and care plans • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider support team Person Specification • Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or within a complex SEND setting • Understanding of autism, ASD, PMLD, and global developmental delay • A calm, patient, and resilient approach • Strong awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils • Physically and emotionally resilient due to the nature of the role • Reliable, flexible, and committed to inclusive education Why Apply? • Highly rewarding role supporting pupils with complex needs • Supportive specialist working environment • Full-time opportunity offering consistency and routine • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference as a SEND Teaching Assistant
