SEND 1:1 for a Y6 Child

Primary School – SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Year 6) HD6 - Brighouse Monday to Friday – Mornings Only Provide Education are seeking a committed and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 6 pupil in one of our partnership primary schools in Halifax, Calderdale. This role is mornings only, Monday to Friday, and involves supporting a pupil with cognitive difficulties and additional learning needs who is currently working at a Year 1 academic level. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering tailored support to help the pupil access learning, build confidence and make measurable progress in a nurturing and structured environment. Essential Requirements: Previous experience supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 basis in a primary school setting Strong understanding of phonics delivery Experience using structured phonics programmes (the school uses Monster Phonics, similar to Little Wandle) A patient, calm and consistent approachThe successful candidate will have: Excellent spoken and written English The ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs Strong behaviour management skills Good communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo Flexibility, initiative and a willingness to engage in professional developmentKey Responsibilities: Delivering tailored phonics and core subject support at a Year 1 level Supporting the pupil’s cognitive development and learning strategies Breaking down tasks into manageable steps Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the class teacher Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learningBenefits of Working with Us: Pay to scale Access to CPD opportunities through our CPD Online platform An attractive refer-a-friend bonus scheme A supportive agency with friendly, dedicated consultants who listen to your requirementsWe are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all supply staff to share this commitment.
