Quantity Surveyor We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading specialist in structural alterations, providing innovative solutions for commercial and residential projects. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, safe, and cost-effective structural modifications, including groundwords, load-bearing wall alterations, and building reinforcements. Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing costs, contracts, and financial planning for structural alteration projects, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tenders for structural alteration projects. * Measure and quantify materials and labour requirements, ensuring compliance with technical specifications. * Manage contract administration, including preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. * Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, identifying and mitigating cost overruns. * Conduct value engineering exercises to optimise project expenditure without compromising quality or safety. * Prepare interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure financial and contractual compliance. * Provide advice on procurement strategies, risk management, and cost-saving opportunities. * Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations throughout all projects. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. * Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in structural alterations, building modifications, or civil engineering projects. * Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and structural systems. * Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel). * Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. * Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Professional membership (RICS or equivalent) preferred.
