Civil Engineer - Cardiff We are currently working with a well-established multidisciplinary design consultancy in Cardiff that is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer to join its growing infrastructure team. Our client delivers civil & structural engineering, architecture, and building services across a wide range of sectors. With a strong pipeline of residential and infrastructure-led projects across South Wales and the South West, they are looking to strengthen their civil engineering capability. The Role This position will focus on the design and delivery of residential developments and associated highway infrastructure schemes. You will play a key role in producing drainage strategies and highway designs, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver technically sound and commercially viable solutions. Key responsibilities include: Producing drainage designs using MicroDrainage (including SuDS strategies) Surface water and foul water drainage design Preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage statements (desirable) Highway design in accordance with local authority standards Section 38, 104 and 278 agreement designs Liaising with local authorities, water companies and clients Coordinating with structural, architectural and MEP teams internally About You We are keen to speak with Civil Engineers who have: 2–5+ years’ experience within a UK consultancy environment Strong experience in residential infrastructure design Proficiency in MicroDrainage (essential) Working knowledge of AutoCAD and ideally Civil 3D Experience working with highways and drainage approvals (S38, S104, S278) Good understanding of UK design standards and regulations Strong communication and organisational skills What’s On Offer Competitive salary reflective of experience Clear progression pathway within a growing team Exposure to a varied project portfolio Support toward Chartership (ICE) Modern Cardiff office location Flexible working options Supportive, collaborative culture This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer looking to develop their career within a respected multidisciplinary consultancy that offers both project variety and long-term progression.
