Applications Engineer – Specialist Grinding Solutions Location: Coventry HQ, with regular travel across the UK and Europe Salary: £38,500–£45,000 + Company Car + Healthcare + Pension A respected name in advanced machine tool technology is expanding its specialist grinding division and is seeking an Applications Engineer to support the delivery of turnkey metal cutting solutions throughout the UK and Europe. The Opportunity This is a practical, customer‑focused position covering the full lifecycle of precision grinding projects. The successful applicant will develop machining strategies, create CNC programmes, support machine installation, and ensure smooth acceptance and sign‑off. Key Responsibilities Develop tailored machining strategies for customer projects Produce CNC programmes (Fanuc experience preferred) Manage and document First Article Inspection (FAI) Deliver customer training and support machine acceptance Contribute to turnkey projects both on-site and remotely Work closely with internal teams and European engineering colleagues What You’ll Need A solid engineering background with 4+ years in a machine tool environment Prior experience as a Production Engineer or CNC Setter/Operator Confident NC programming skills; Fanuc controls an advantage Experience with creep feed grinding is helpful but not essential Familiarity with CAM and machine simulation software is beneficial A proactive approach, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects Why Join?
