A great opportunity has arisen for a proactive, highly organised, detail-driven and methodical Finance Assistant to join our small finance team at the Campden Charities, the well-established charity based in West London near Notting Hill Gate tube station. We are seeking to recruit someone on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an office-based role in assisting the Finance Director with daily tasks and year-end preparations. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting a broad range of financial processes including invoice management, reconciliations and general administration. Main Duties include: * Assisting with essential finance activities * Various data entry into Sage 50, including nominal journals, purchase and sales invoices * Assisting with processing grants * Maintain purchase and sales ledgers * Prepare supplier payment runs * Maintain spreadsheets outside Sage * Assisting with payments * Assisting with year-end and audit preparations * Ad hoc reporting Key requisites for candidates: * At least one year of previous work experience within an accounting department * Competent use of MS Office with strong Excel skills, able to create a complex spreadsheet * Working knowledge of Sage 50 or similar accounting software * Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy * Strong understanding of accounting principles and finance processes * Professional, with a strong ethical and collaborative approach to business relationships * Self-motivated individual with strong organisational skills and can-do attitude * Strong analytical and communication skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines * Strong team player, accountable for own input * Actively studying towards the ACCA qualification What is on offer? * The opportunity to be part of our 400 year’s commitment to assist those in need in West London * Excellent opportunity to develop skills within supportive and collaborative environment * Competitive salary of £31k-£35k pa based on experience * Generous 28 days annual leave exclusive of bank holidays * 10% employer pension contribution (rising with service) * Bupa medical insurance, Denplan, critical illness insurance The closing date for applications is Monday, 16th February 2026.
