Qualified Transport Manager / Transport Supervisor (Development Opportunity) Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + car allowance + additional benefits Location: North West London Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm (every third Saturday 7:00am–12:00pm) Contract: Full-time, Permanent The Opportunity A well-established, family-run road surfacing company with over 50 years of industry experience is seeking a Qualified Transport Manager to be named on the company’s Operator Licence, or a Transport Supervisor who is keen to progress towards achieving their Transport Manager CPC qualification. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business operating at FORS Silver level, where you will have real autonomy and influence over the transport function while working closely with the company directors. About Us Over 50 years’ experience in the road surfacing industry Fleet of 30 HGVs, including: 32t grabs Tippers Gully suckers Road sweepers Wagon & drag vehicles 40 light commercial vehicles, including: Transit Connects Transit Dropsides Panel Vans 60+ items of plant machinery, including: Dynapac Pavers Wirtgen Planers JCBs Excavators (3t–21t) Rollers In-house workshop supported by two experienced mechanics FORS Silver accredited Role Overview You will be responsible for the effective management of the company’s transport operations, ensuring full compliance with DVSA and Operator Licence requirements. The role covers fleet and plant oversight, driver management, compliance, and supporting the ongoing development of transport standards across the business. This position reports directly to the Directors and offers scope to develop and enhance transport systems and processes. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain full compliance with DVSA, O Licence, and transport legislation Act as the named Transport Manager on the Operator Licence (or work towards qualification) Oversee day-to-day operations of the HGV, LCV, and plant fleet Manage driver compliance, conduct, and adherence to company policies Analyse tachograph data and ensure working time compliance Plan and implement vehicle servicing, inspections, MOTs, and testing schedules Support and liaise with the in-house workshop and mechanics Manage bulk fuel supplies and usage monitoring Support driver recruitment, inductions, and ongoing training and development Maintain and manage FORS Silver compliance, audits, and accreditations Develop and improve transport processes to support business growth Candidate Profile Qualified Transport Manager (CPC holder) or Transport Supervisor looking to gain CPC Experience managing fleets of HGVs, vans, and/or plant machinery Strong understanding of DVSA regulations, tachographs, and compliance Organised, proactive, and confident working independently Comfortable reporting directly to senior management Commitment to maintaining high safety and compliance standards Salary & Benefits Salary up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience Car allowance Additional company benefits Long-term career progression within a stable, family-run business
