Overview A digital manufacturing consultancy working at the forefront of advanced industrial technologies is seeking a Digital Manufacturing Engineer to join its Bristol-based team. The organisation delivers solutions across aerospace, automotive, and construction, focusing on production system modelling, factory optimisation and Industry 4.0 adoption. This role combines hands-on engineering with software-driven simulation and digital twin development. It would suit an engineer with experience in manufacturing, production or process planning, and an interest in virtual commissioning, robotics, ergonomics, and advanced factory simulation environments. Key Responsibilities * Analyse, optimise and simulate production processes and manufacturing layouts * Develop digital twins, perform virtual commissioning and execute ergonomic assessments * Support solution design from concept through delivery using advanced digital manufacturing platforms * Produce technical presentations, reports and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders * Participate in pre-sales activities including customer meetings, scoping sessions and demonstrations * Stay aligned with emerging methods, Industry 4.0 trends and new capabilities within digital manufacturing software tools * Contribute ideas to improve workflows, challenge conventional methods and support continuous improvement * Support full project lifecycle delivery from requirements capture through configuration, testing and handover Required Skills & Experience * 3D CAD proficiency (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks or similar) * Industry exposure in aerospace, automotive, construction or manufacturing * Experience in production engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process planning * Strong interest in advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and digitalisation * Comfortable working autonomously and engaging directly with customers * Fluent English communication skills (written & verbal) Desirable Experience Candidates with any of the following will be strongly advantaged: * Experience with Dassault Systèmes platforms (e.g., 3DEXPERIENCE, DELMIA, CATIA V5, SolidWorks) * Understanding of PLM workflows and digital BOM/MBOM/EBOM structures * Experience generating digital work instructions or supporting DMU management * Exposure to discrete event simulation, robotics, kinematics or equipment/tooling design * Practical background as a Manufacturing/Production/Project Engineer * Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline * Working towards or holding professional accreditation The employer is open to both experienced engineers and motivated graduates with relevant technical foundations
