Production Shift Manager (Nights)

A leading food manufacturer is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Shift Manager to support high-performing production operations at their state-of-the-art facility in Rochester. On Offer: * Salary will be circa £50 000 + Shift Allowance * Healthcare + Pension Benefits * This is a night shift role (4 on 4 off) based at their site in Kent * Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Key Responsibilities * Oversee shift performance to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. * Plan, allocate, and manage manpower effectively across all production lines. * Coordinate with engineering and QA to minimise downtime and maintain product quality. * Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, waste reduction, and resource utilisation. * Manage materials returned to the warehouse and ensure correct documentation. * Reconcile raw materials, packaging, and finished goods at the end of each shift. * Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain high inventory accuracy. * Enforce food safety, GMP, HACCP, hygiene, and general safety standards. * Conduct routine safety checks and ensure timely corrective actions. Candidate requirements * Relevant tertiary qualification * At least 5 years’ experience in a Food or Drinks manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or shift management role. * Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft, SAP, Oracle or equivalent). * Proven experience in production reporting, team leadership, and manpower management. * Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards. * Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership capability
