Principal Civil Engineer

This opportunity offers a hybrid working arrangement, where in which the successful applicant will be operating from their main office, located near Portsmouth, three days a week. Responsibilities: -Oversee the design and implementation of a variety of civil engineering projects, with a large focus on drainage and highway systems. -Monitor the upkeep of key project documentation, including drainage technical notes, flood risk assessments, and utilities statements, ensuring they remain up to date. -Ensure that all work complies with relevant building regulations, security and safety protocols, and other key legislations. -Build and maintain rapport with industry professionals, stakeholders, clients, and government bodies, to ensure all requirements are being met and implemented. -Support and mentor junior professionals, nurturing professional development, high-quality performance, and collaborative working. -Support business development through the identification and implementation of new opportunities and the establishment of project and business proposals. Requirements: -Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline, with a Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status. -Profound experience as a Principal Civil Engineer, or a related position, with a portfolio of previous works showcasing experience with Drainage and Highway projects. -Proficiency in SuDS, flood risk, surface water drainage system designs, earthworks, and section agreements (S278 and S38). -Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of resourcing, project financials, and client management strategies. -Effective communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities, with strong report-writing and technical presentation skills
