About the Role We are recruiting a Court Officer to join a busy and supportive London Local Authority legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor or a legal professional who has recently qualified after working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Officer within a public‑sector environment. You will play a key role in supporting the council’s housing and litigation functions, managing a varied caseload and providing clear, accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities * Manage and progress a caseload of housing and civil litigation matters * Prepare court documentation, statements, and case bundles * Attend court hearings, case conferences, and meetings as required * Provide timely legal advice to officers and service managers * Liaise with external partners, counsel, and other local authorities * Support the wider legal team with case preparation and research * Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements About You We are looking for someone who is: * A Newly Qualified Solicitor (NQ) or qualified within the last few years * Experienced working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Officer within a Local Authority or public‑sector legal team * Confident handling housing or litigation matters * Able to manage a busy caseload and work to deadlines * A strong communicator who can build positive working relationships * A team player who enjoys working collaboratively in a supportive environment Why Join This Team? * Work with a friendly, collaborative legal service * Gain valuable experience in Local Authority housing and litigation work * Flexible working arrangements * Opportunity to develop your skills in a large, well‑structured team
