SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Stockport Role: Teaching Assistant (Autism) Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time (Term-Time only) Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm Pay: £90.00- £110.00 per day (DOE) Do you have a passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? We're looking for a caring, patient, and committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Stockport, where your support will genuinely change a child's school experience. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys building relationships, creating calm and structured environments, and helping pupils feel confident, safe, and understood. Teaching Assistant Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ASC Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation Implement strategies in line with EHCPs and individual support plans Use structured approaches such as visual timetables and sensory strategies Support behaviour management and promote positive learning outcomes Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment Experience, Training & Qualifications Experience supporting children or young people with ASC (school or care setting) Understanding of SEN and inclusive education practices Calm, patient, and empathetic approach Relevant training (e.g. autism awareness, safeguarding) is desirable but not essential Requirements Right to Work in the UK Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Two professional references How to Apply Please apply with an up-to-date CV outlining your relevant experience.
