Cad Engineer

CAD Engineer Location: Bridgwater, Somerset Project: Major Flagship Construction Project An opportunity has arisen for a CAD Engineer to join the project delivery team on a high-profile, flagship construction project in Bridgwater, Somerset. This role offers the chance to be part of a technically complex scheme, supporting accurate setting out, as-built documentation, and the preparation of engineering information for site teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating design information into usable drawings and setting-out files, ensuring works are delivered efficiently and accurately in line with project requirements. The Role * Draft and produce accurate as-built drawings for civils, structural, and drainage works * Convert structural engineers’ information and design data into usable setting-out files for total stations * Support site teams with plotting and providing data for surveying and construction activities * Ensure drawings and setting-out information comply with project specifications, standards, and client requirements * Maintain and update CAD records, ensuring version control and accuracy of documentation * Collaborate with site engineers, surveyors, and subcontractors to resolve design and buildability issues * Assist with the preparation of handover documentation, including as-built packs * Support quality and compliance by checking drawings against on-site conditions and reporting discrepancies * Ensure work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards Knowledge, Experience & Skills * Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a CAD/Surveying discipline * Proven experience in a CAD or drafting role on large-scale construction or civil engineering projects * Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software, including the ability to produce plotting files for total stations * Experience interpreting structural and civil engineering information accurately * Understanding of setting-out procedures, site survey data, and as-built recording * Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and organised documentation * Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with site teams and engineers * Proactive, methodical, and capable of working to tight deadlines What’s on Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunity to work on a flagship, technically complex construction project * Long-term project stability and career development opportunities * Support for ongoing training and professional development * A collaborative, professional, and quality-driven project environment
