Job Title: Associate Civil Engineer Ref. No.: CJD0612B25 Location: Based near Edinburgh Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 This is an incredible opportunity to join my client, an innovative, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy, currently in the process of establishing themselves as sector-leaders in the Water and wider Civil Engineering fields. As a recently-established consultancy, they are currently searching for an experienced, passionate Associate Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of drainage and non-infrastructure design who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver a vast array of challenging projects. You will effectively build and develop a newly-established team of design experts, based near the stunning, historic Scottish Capital City of Edinburgh. Benefits for the role of Associate Civil Engineer include (but are not limited to): - Competitive salary (commensurate with experience) - Employee Pension Scheme - Generous annual leave entitlement - Life Insurance Scheme - Dedication to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - Opportunities to win and deliver a number of diverse engineering projects across the region and beyond - Proactively influencing the future of the company Responsibilities for the role of Associate Civil Engineer include: - Delivering a diverse array of projects and developments - Overseeing a newly-established team of Civil Engineering professionals, mentoring them and overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - Leading all aspects of design projects, including budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, and successful delivery/implementation - Working to win a range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects - Managing important professional relations with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors - Preparing, checking, and submitting technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and more - Continually enforcing company policies, procedures, and best practice - Upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times - Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a trusted, go-to representative during client meetings, site visits, etc. Required skills and experience for the role of Associate Civil Engineer include: - A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering or a cognate discipline - Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE) - Considerable experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK consultancy - Demonstrable experience of working with water-based projects - Experience of detailed drainage and civil engineering design - Well-versed in the use of various software packages (including Revit, AutoCAD, etc.) - Considerable experience of producing, checking, and amending technical documents for submission - Prior experience of managing projects and people within the sector - Extensive experience of managing client and stakeholder relations - Confidence in winning diverse projects across the region, and delivering these to the highest of standards - Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - Possess a full, valid UK driving licence Desirable skills and experience for the role of Associate Civil Engineer include: - A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering or Hydrology (or similar, relevant discipline) - Experience of having worked on water-based non-infrastructure design projects (e.g., reservoirs, pumping stations, etc.) - Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments - Experience of Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS) - Experience of working in a public-facing role If you are interested in the role of Associate Civil Engineer, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
