Job Title: Production Manager Location: Walsall, UK Reports to: Director Salary Band: Management Manufacturing (£37,500 – £47,500) Job Overview A dynamic and experienced Production Manager is required to lead manufacturing operations within our organisation. The successful candidate will ensure efficient production processes, uphold high-quality standards, and drive continuous improvement throughout the operation. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, proven people-management experience, and a solid background in lean manufacturing principles. This position is essential for delivering products on time and within budget while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Control * Plan, coordinate, and oversee manufacturing processes to meet production targets. * Monitor workflow and adjust schedules to optimise output and minimise downtime. Team Leadership * Lead, manage, and develop production staff, including supervisors and operators. * Foster a positive and productive work environment through coaching and performance management. Quality & Compliance * Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. * Collaborate with relevant teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. Process Improvement * Identify inefficiencies and apply lean manufacturing principles. * Lead initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance workplace safety. Inventory & Materials Management * Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely material availability. * Monitor stock levels and support inventory control processes. Reporting & Analysis * Track KPIs and prepare regular production performance reports. * Use data insights to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence. * Good working knowledge of ERP systems (ideally Winman). Qualifications & Skills * Proven experience in a manufacturing production management role. * Strong leadership and team-building abilities. * Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. * Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning tools. * Knowledge of ISO standards. * Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques. * Degree, equivalent qualification, or relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment with team leadership responsibility
