Specialist SEN Support Roles Across SEND Schools & Provisions Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with specialist schools that support children and young people with complex learning, behavioural, and social needs. We are seeking Team Teach-trained candidates who are confident, resilient, and experienced in SEND or care-based environments. Who We're Looking For: We welcome candidates who have experience working in: SEND / SEN schools, specialist provisions, or PRUs Care, residential, youth work, or behaviour support roles You must be able to build positive relationships, de-escalate challenging situations, and provide consistent, trauma-informed support. Essential Skills & Experience: Candidates should have experience with: Team Teach de-escalation and physical intervention techniques (current or recently expired training welcome) Supporting children with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or complex needs Implementing behaviour plans and personalised support strategies Working 1:1 or in small groups Using visual aids and communication tools (PECs, Makaton, etc.) Personal care (where required) The Role: You will work within specialist provisions, including PRUs, SEMH schools, and SEND settings supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviours, attachment needs, trauma backgrounds, or communication barriers. You'll help create safe, predictable learning environments and support both learning and emotional regulation.
