Senior Planner / Pre‑Construction Manager Preston £75,000 - £85,000 + Car / Allowance + Pension + Healthcare Regional, long standing main contractor Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic Senior Planner / Pre‑Construction Manager to join a respected Chartered Building Company with a £50m turnover and a close‑knit team culture. In this position you will take ownership of planning and programming from early concept through to live project handover — and have the opportunity to shape how pre‑construction activity supports the business as it moves into higher value schemes (£15‑20m). This is a long‑term role within a loyal team, not a short‑term contract, you will embed within the business and drive planning excellence. As Senior Planner / Pre‑Construction Manager you will be the go‑to professional for tender programmes, early phase planning and mobilisation of frameworks, working hand‑in‑glove with senior leadership and the delivery teams. Responsibilities As Senior Planner / Pre‑Construction Manager you will: Lead planning and programming at pre‑construction stage: develop tender programmes, prepare early BIM/4D input, define key milestones and align resources. Oversee the transition of plans from tender into live projects, working alongside project managers to embed robust programmes. Manage or support the live‐phase schedule monitoring and update the master programme, identifying risks, dependencies and enabling opportunities. Collaborate with estimating, commercial and operations teams to structure programmes that are deliverable and aligned with frameworks (DfE, local authority, public sector). Mentor junior planners, develop scheduling templates and contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes.
