They are seeking a dedicated, patient and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join their highly supportive, trauma-informed team. The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will support KS3 and KS4 learners who may struggle with emotional regulation, engagement and confidence. You will help pupils access the curriculum, develop resilience and progress at a pace tailored to their individual needs. Your role will be varied, rewarding and central to pupil success. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and SEND needs * Assist classroom teachers in delivering inclusive, differentiated lessons * Help pupils with communication, behaviour regulation and core academic skills * Build positive, supportive relationships with students * Promote an emotionally safe and inclusive classroom environment * Encourage independence, confidence and personal development * Support behaviour plans and relational, trauma-informed approaches * Assist with resources, displays and classroom preparation * Contribute to wellbeing sessions, interventions and enrichment * Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral teams * Uphold safeguarding policies and child protection standards Requirements * Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals * Passion for SEMH, wellbeing and inclusive education * Ability to stay calm, patient and supportive in challenging situations * Willingness to follow relational and trauma-informed approaches * Strong communication and teamwork skills * GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent) * Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare Desirable: * Level 2 or 3 TA qualification * Experience working in SEMH, SEND or alternative provision * Behaviour support experience What Excell Supply & the School Offer * Competitive salary dependent on experience * Fully funded CPD and professional qualifications * Supportive leadership team and therapeutic learning model * Blue Light discount card access * Enhanced pension * Staff referral rewards * Enhanced maternity and paternity pay * Employee wellbeing support and retail discounts * Life assurance As members of the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) and Umbrella body to the DBS, (Disclosure & Barring Service) Excell Supply is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
