Site Engineer

We are recruiting an experienced Site Engineer to join a major HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) and trenchless installation project based in Haddington, East Lothian. This is a long-term opportunity on a technically ambitious programme, ideal for engineers with strong knowledge of HDD drilling operations and on-site quality assurance. Key Responsibilities * Support, oversee and record HDD drilling operations and trenchless installation works. * Deliver QA/QC documentation, method statements, risk assessments and daily reporting. * Monitor progress against engineering specifications and ensure compliance on site. * Liaise with site management, drilling teams and subcontractors to maintain safe and efficient operations. * Assist with surveying, setting-out and technical problem-solving as required. Requirements * Proven experience in HDD drilling projects – essential. * Strong understanding of trenchless methods and underground utility installation. * Competent with QA/QC processes, documentation and site compliance. * CSCS card required. * Ability to work in a site-based, rotational shift pattern (11 on / 3 off). * Strong communication and organisational skills.
