Head of Sufficiency & Brokerage (Remote)

Our client, a local authority in Norfolk are looking for an experienced Head of Sufficiency & Brokerage to join their team and play a crucial role in their children's services operations. Position: Head of Sufficiency & Brokerage Location: Norfolk Salary: £450 a day umbrella Hours: Monday - Friday / 9am - 5pm  Contract: 6-7 months (possible extension) Hybrid or remote working available! Key Responsibilities Drive innovation and continuous improvement in placement sufficiency and brokerage, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes and securing value for money. Provide strategic leadership, direction, and management, ensuring the local authority meets its statutory duties regarding sufficiency of placements for children in care and those on the edge of care. Lead on strategic market engagement and relationship management, with a focus on holding the market to account and fostering improved communication between social work teams, commissioning, sufficiency teams, and the wider market. Responsible for supporting interventions with individual young people and providers where situations have escalated, ensuring additional accountability is in place to maintain quality and safe homes for young people. Job Requirements Proven experience as a manager within the public sector and closely related to the social services, education and health care agenda. Qualification in leadership and management. Excellent understanding of the statutory framework and best practice relating to placement sufficiency, brokerage, and commissioning in children’s services. Strong knowledge of the local and regional provider market for children’s placements. A clean Enhanced DBS is essential, if you do not have this in place please DO NOT apply for this role!
