Nursery Nurse

ROLE: Deputy Room Leader LOCATION: Finchley HOURS: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, rota basis Salary: £28k+ depending on qualifications / experience + benefits About this Deputy Room Leader / Nursery Nurse role: You’ll help lead a vibrant preschool room, ensuring consistently high standards of care, education, and safeguarding. Working closely with management, you’ll supervise staff day-to-day, model outstanding EYFS practice, and build strong partnerships with parents and professionals. Key duties for our Deputy Room Leader / Nursery Nurse vacancy: • Oversee daily running of the preschool room, ensuring a safe, stimulating environment. • Lead EYFS planning, observations, assessments and Learning Journeys; track outcomes. • Coach, supervise and support practitioners; co-chair room meetings and take minutes. • Champion safeguarding, inclusion, health & safety, fire and food hygiene procedures. • Maintain accurate records; complete reports and risk assessments (daily/weekly/monthly). • Partner with parents/carers and external professionals; manage smooth transitions. • Monitor consumables and resources; maintain room hygiene and display standards. • Support opening/closing procedures; administer First Aid where required. What you’ll need to be considered for our Deputy Room Leader / Nursery Nurse positon: • Level 3 (or higher) Early Years qualification. • Solid EYFS knowledge with experience in a preschool/3–5s room. • Strong safeguarding practice and commitment to children’s welfare. • Confident communicator; able to mentor and guide colleagues. • Right to work in the UK and a current (or willingness to obtain) enhanced DBS.
