Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Fit Out Projects A leading electrical contractor, renowned for delivering high-end commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across London and the City, is seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. As an integral part of the commercial department, the successful candidate will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Project Teams in all aspects of cost management, procurement, and financial control. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle, from tendering and estimating to final account negotiation, working within a collaborative team that values professional development and promotes from within. Key Responsibilities * Assisting in the preparation and management of project budgets, valuations, and cost reports. * Supporting the procurement of subcontractors and materials in line with project requirements. * Measuring and assessing variations, ensuring accurate records and cost tracking. * Working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure financial objectives are achieved. * Contributing to tender submissions, commercial reviews, and risk assessments. * Developing a thorough understanding of electrical systems within a commercial fit-out environment. Candidate Profile * Degree-qualified or currently undertaking a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field. * Some experience within M&E or construction (fit-out experience desirable but not essential). * Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. * A proactive, team-focused attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced setting.
