Job Title: Temporary Payroll Officer

About the Role:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on a temporary basis in Exhall, Coventry. The role involves managing the weekly payroll for approximately 130 employees. This position can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with flexibility around working hours for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Process end-to-end weekly payroll for approx. 130 employees

Input and reconcile timesheets, holidays, absences, and overtime

Administer statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP

Ensure timely submissions to HMRC (FPS, EPS)

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records

Respond to payroll-related queries from staff and management

Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure smooth payroll operations

Support payroll reporting and reconciliations as needed

Stay informed and compliant with current UK payroll legislation

Requirements:

Previous experience processing weekly payroll

Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation

Experience using payroll software (e.g., Sage, BrightPay, or similar)

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Able to work independently and manage deadlines

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial setting

Familiarity with time & attendance systems

Available for immediate start

Working Hours:

Full-time or part-time hours available

Flexible start and finish times can be discussed at interview
